Stud service
Warning : to Wheaten Terrier owners in Ireland !
If you own a male Wheaten Terrier, be careful when getting an inquiry for stud service. We were informed that someone in Co. Kildare broke the code of ethics by refusing to pay the stud fee when
there was a confirmation of pregnancy and the bitch gave birth to healthy puppies. This person is not only a breeder but also a dog show judge. So don't get fooled, make sure to be paid upfront the
day of the mating and write a contract.
Feanaro kennels
Last May, we sadly announced the loss of Marianne Baas-Becking. Today, all the Irish Wheaten fanciers will be happy to learn that the Feanaro line keeps
going on thanks to Wilma Augustinus that will continue to breed Feanaro Wheatens after Marianne.
Many thanks to Wilma !
Aingeal Of Sterrin
We are happy to welcome Cora Kentie, a new Wheaten breeder in The Netherlands. She will breed under the kennels name of " Aingeal Of Sterrin ". We wish her all the best !

Marianne Baas-Becking
It is with lots of sadness that we have to announce the loss of Marianne Baas-Becking who run the Feanaro kennels for nearly 34 years. Marianne was a well known genuine breeder, a pillar of the
breed. She will be greatly missed. R.I.P. Marianne.

Briankeen Affix
Warning : The "Briankeen" affix was owned by the late Joe O'Brien. The last dog bred by Mr
O'Brien is Briankeen J.O. born in May 2007 and owned by Ms Deborah Evans. Ms Evans alerted us about someone in the US breeding dogs and calling them "Briankeen" misleading people about the lineage.
If you have any doubt about the lineage of your dog or future dog, please contact us or Ms. Evans.

Tail Docking and Dew Claw
New regulations in Ireland
Tail Docking of Dogs and Dew Claw Removal by Lay Persons - Now Illegal
It is an offence for any Lay person to perform any procedure on a dog for cosmetic reasons, with no exception (Tail Docking and Dew Claws removed). Furthermore it is now an offence to show any dog
that has had a cosmetic procedure, or any other illegal procedure performed upon them since the 6th March 2014. (This does not apply to dogs docked or dew claws removed before the 6th
March2014)
Tail docking and dew claw removal of dogs by Veterinary Practitioners is illegal, except in very limited circumstances, therapeutic reasons (i.e. to treat existing illness or injury where a
Veterinary Practitioner’s professional opinion is that there is no other option but to perform the procedure).
There is, however, a Ministerial Regulation permitting Veterinary Practitioners to perform these procedures on certain breeds if the individual pup is intended to be a working dog, and provided a
list of other criteria are met.
